Anne Luther Antiques About Anne

Anne Luther is a Santa Barbara-based antiques dealer, artist & designer. She creates compelling environments for retail stores and homes with carefully curated selections of vintage finds from around the world. From Palm Springs to London to New York to Paris, Anne’s love of art and design is evident in the unique and beautiful treasures she finds on her travels.

At the age of 14, while friends were babysitting and waitressing during summer school breaks, Anne began her first antique business, Raggedy Anneteques, selling at flea markets and swap meets. Despite her early beginnings as an antiques dealer she followed a career in International Marketing & Public Relations in New York, Hong Kong, and London. During her off hours, she continued her education in antiques and the decorative arts by immersing herself in international cultures, concepts and local flea markets. In the 1980’s she once again returned to the antiques trade, part time. While traveling internationally for her “day jobâ€, Anne, a native New Yorker, purchased unique vintage decorative accessories and sold them through designer showrooms in Manhattan’s prestigious D & D building.

In 2000 Anne, decided that a complete career change was in order. She relocated from New York City to Santa Barbara and began to focus on art & antiques. She launched Anne Luther Antiques in two of Santa Barbara’s most esteemed collectives.

Anne is the past president of the Santa Barbara Visual Arts Alliance and a former member of the boards of The Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Girls Inc. where she co-chaired a 100 Committee Scholarship Luncheon. She is currently a trustee of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and served on its board for six years. Anne has provided council and served on committees for The Music Academy of the West’s May Madness Sale, Domestic Violence Solutions the Santa Barbara Choral Society and The Dream Foundation.
